Ukrainian companies exported more than 11 mcm of biomethane in 2025
Ukrainian private companies exported more than 11.2 mcm of gaseous biomethane from their own production in 2025, according to ExPro estimates.
Start of export
Biomethane exports started in February 2025, when the first Ukrainian company, Vitagro, exported 67.5 tcm of biomethane from its own production via the gas transmission system to Slovakia. Before that, biomethane had never been exported in Ukraine’s history.
Who exported biomethane?
In total, three Ukrainian companies exported gaseous biomethane in 2025. The largest exporter in 2025 was MHP Holding, with about 8.7 mcm, or 77% of total exports.
Vitagro Group ranked second by export volumes of Ukrainian biomethane, with about 2.5 mcm in 2025.
In addition, Gals Agro carried out one export shipment of biomethane from its own production, exceeding 75 tcm.
Bio-LNG export
In addition, two Ukrainian companies exported liquefied biomethane (bio-LNG) in 2025: MHP – over 5 thousand tons, and YM Liquid Gas – almost 900 tons. The companies exported liquefied biomethane to Europe by road tankers.
