MHP became the second company to export biomethane from Ukraine

Oril Leader PrJSC, part of the MHP agro-industrial holding and operating a biomethane plant in the Dnipro region, exported 27.4 tcm of biomethane on February 11, becoming the second Ukrainian company to export biomethane. This was reported by ExPro sources.

MHP exported biomethane through gas pipelines across the Ukrainian-Polish border to Germany. The buyer of biomethane was Vitol.

The first export of biomethane

On February 7, Vitagro Energy LLC, a part of the Vitagro agricultural holding, carried out the first-ever biomethane export operation. The company exported 67.5 tcm of biomethane via Slovakia to Germany. The buyer of the biomethane was ERU Europe.

Who produces biomethane in Ukraine?

In addition to these two companies, Gals Agro produces biomethane and pumps it into Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities. The company may also export biomethane soon. According to the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine, Ukrainian producers have accumulated about 2 mcm of biomethane in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities.
