Sergii Fedorenko becomes new head of Naftogaz

The Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC elected Sergii Fedorenko as acting CEO of Naftogaz, ExPro sources reported.

Fedorenko became acting CEO of Naftogaz after the company’s now-former head Sergii Koretskyi was elected as the new Prime Minister of Ukraine.

According to ExPro sources, the Supervisory Board considered two candidates for the position of acting CEO of Naftogaz: Sergii Fedorenko and UkrGasVydobuvannya CEO Yurii Tkachuk, who was recently elected to the Naftogaz Management Board.

Who is Sergii Fedorenko?

Before being elected acting CEO of Naftogaz, Sergii Fedorenko served as Commercial Director of Naftogaz Group. He has more than 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

Previously, he served as Commercial Director at Ukrnafta, where he was responsible for the purchase and sale of petroleum products, supply logistics, gas and electricity trading, management and development of the filling station network, as well as B2B fuel sales to corporate clients.

Before Ukrnafta, he worked as Commercial Director of UkrGasVydobuvannya in 2015-2023, where he was also a member of the Management Board. In parallel, he headed Naftogaz Oil Trading in 2019-2022.

In 2022-2023, he served as a volunteer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He holds a master’s degree in political science from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and an MBA from the Kyiv School of Economics.
