YM Liquid Gas started exporting liquefied biomethane

In September 2025, YM Liquid Gas LLC for the first time exported Ukrainian-produced liquefied biomethane (bio-LNG), according to ExPro Daily Gas report.

Details

The company exports liquefied biomethane produced by its own facilities to Germany, where the buyer is Cyprus-based Preture Liquid Gas, which, according to YouControl, is the founder of YM Biogas Company. Thus, both companies belong to the same group.

Biomethane is exported by road tankers. According to ExPro estimates, in September-October, the company exported almost 60 tons of liquefied biomethane.

The company produces biomethane from biogas at its own biogas plant in the Vinnytsia region – Yuzefo-Mykolayivskyi Biogas Plant. Biogas is produced from sugar beet pulp and broiler chicken manure. Thus, YM Liquid Gas became the second Ukrainian company to export bio-LNG and the fourth company to export biomethane from Ukraine.

Biomethane export

It should be reminded that the Oril Leader from the MHP Group also exports bio-LNG to Germany. According to ExPro estimates, the company exported almost 2.8 thousand tons since early May 2025.

As reported by ExPro, on February 7, Vitagro for the first time exported biomethane from Ukraine. On February 11, MHP joined, and in June, Gals Agro carried out the first export of gaseous biomethane. According to ExPro calculations, Ukrainian producers exported almost 6.5 mcm of gaseous biomethane in 2025, most of it by MHP.

Biomethane production

According to information from the GTS Operator of Ukraine, as of mid-2025, four biomethane plants with a capacity of 41 mcm of biomethane per year were operating in Ukraine, three of them already commercially supplying biomethane to the GTS. By the end of 2025, biomethane producers plan to commission additional biomethane plants with a capacity of up to 70 mcm per year and increase the total capacity to 111 mcm per year.
