Naftogaz launches search for new CEO

The supervisory board of state-owned Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC has decided to hold an open selection process for the company's CEO.

An international executive search firm will be engaged to prepare and conduct the selection process. The process will be supported by and coordinated with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

According to Naftogaz, the selection process is intended to be transparent and independent, with candidates assessed on their professional qualifications in line with OECD corporate governance standards and the expectations of the company's international partners.

The name of the recruitment firm, candidate requirements, application deadlines, and expected completion date have not yet been announced.

Sergii Fedorenko will continue to serve as acting CEO until a new chief executive is selected. The supervisory board appointed him on July 17, 2026, after former CEO Sergii Koretskyi became Ukraine's prime minister. Fedorenko previously served as Naftogaz's chief commercial officer and a member of its management board.
