SOCAR-AQS considers Ukraine as a promising region for drilling gas wells
Azerbaijani company SOCAR-AQS considers Ukraine as a promising region for conducting its drilling operations for oil and gas, including the Black Sea shelf. This was stated by Mr. Orkhan Vahabov, Deputy General Director for Business Development of SOCAR AQS, during the international conference Odesa Offshore Conference 2018 on prospects for hydrocarbon extraction on the Black Sea shelf.
"Ukraine is the country we are considering for work in the coming years ... In Ukraine, we are negotiating with several companies," said Mr. Vahabov. According to Mr. Orkhan Vahabov, today SOCAR-AQS has 6 drilling rigs on platforms in Azerbaijan operating on the Caspian Sea, as well as another onshore drilling rig operating in Bangladesh. By 2020, the company plans to increase its fleet to 12 drilling rigs.
