Russia carried out a massive attack on Ukrainian gas production
During the night of May 4–5, russian forces carried out a massive attack on the facilities of Naftogaz Group. Gas production assets in Poltava and Kharkiv regions came under fire, the company reported.
The enemy used a combined tactic involving drones and ballistic missiles. The strikes resulted in significant destruction and production losses.
“The most painful part is the loss of our colleagues. Three employees of Naftogaz Group and two rescuers of the State Emergency Service were killed, while another 37 people were injured. My sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. All those injured are receiving the necessary medical assistance,” said Sergii Koretskyi, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
According to the State Emergency Service, Viktor Kuzmenko and Dmytro Skryl were killed while responding to a large-scale fire when russian forces launched a second strike.
All relevant services are working at the sites. As soon as the security situation allows, specialists will begin assessing the damage and carrying out restoration works.
As reported earlier, on May 3, russian forces attacked five infrastructure facilities of Naftogaz Group in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
