“Green” bonds market in Ukraiene is estimated at €1bil - €2 bil
The projected market for “green” bonds, as a source of finance for projects in renewable energy and energy efficiency in Ukraine, may reach €1bil - €2 bil. This estimates were released by Martin Dasek, IFC’s senior specialist for financing of environmental projects.
According to Mr. Dasek, “green” bonds are widely used in China and EU countries, and Poland in particular. “Green” bonds are instrumental in the USA, China, EU… Now it is time to introduce them in Ukraine”, added Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Sergiy Savchuk. According to Mr. Savchuk, first of all, one needs to create a regulatory base and test it on pilot projects.
