During March-August 2022, Ukraine exported 1.335 million MWh of electricity

During March-August 2022, Ukraine exported 1,335,717 MWh of electricity in four directions - Poland, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia.

Such data are published in the "Operational Monitoring of the Electric Energy Market", the publication of which has been resumed by the NEURC since September 1.

In terms of dynamics, the volume of electricity exports during this period is growing at a significant rate.

As reported in ExPro, the first export destination during full-scale war and after emergency synchronization with ENTSO-E was opened on March 30 - to Poland. The next direction for the supply of Ukrainian electricity was Moldova - from May 12. Already at the end of June, the export of electricity to Romania was opened, and a week later - to Slovakia.

As of September 2, Ukraine exports 125 MW to Romania and Slovakia on a regular schedule.

As reported in ExPro Electricity Daily, exports to Poland are temporarily suspended for September 1-18.

In the period from March to August of this year, most of the electricity was exported to Poland (54% of all exports), another 26% - to Moldova, 11% - to Romania, 9% - to Slovakia.

According to ExPro, the only exporter to Poland is DTEK Zahidenergo. Also, the generating company of the DTEK holding exports electricity to Romania and Slovakia. In addition to DTEK, LE Trading Ukraine, ERU Trading, DE Trading, Ukr Gas Resource, and New Technologies 3000 also supplied or are supplying resources to the European Union.

Also, among the exporters to the EU were "Energoatom" and "Ukrhydroenergo", but they stopped their deliveries in these directions. At the same time, instead of state generation in the export structure, a state trader appeared - "Energy Company of Ukraine". Meanwhile, "ECU" buys volumes from "Energoatom" under bilateral agreements and sells them on the domestic and foreign markets.

Electricity is exported to Moldova by 2 state companies - "Energoatom" and "Ukrhydroenergo" under direct contracts with Energocom.
