DTEK and Fluence Energy BV to work together on the largest energy storage portfolio in Ukraine

DTEK has selected Fluence Energy BV, a subsidiary of Fluence Energy, Inc., as the equipment supplier for a large-scale portfolio of energy storage systems of 200 MW. This was reported by the DTEK press service.

As noted by DTEK, Fluence Energy BV is the world market leader in energy storage systems, offering operational services and software for asset optimization. When commissioned, the project will be the largest operational portfolio of energy storage in Eastern Europe.

Fluence and DTEK (through its subsidiary DTEK Renewables) plan to complete the project by October 2025. It will consist of 6 energy storage systems located at several sites across Ukraine, with capacities ranging from 20 MW to 50 MW and a total capacity of 200 MW. Together, they will store up to 400 MWh of electricity – enough to power 600,000 households for two hours.

According to DTEK, the total investment in the project is EUR 140 million. Its implementation is aimed at increasing the stability of the electricity grid, strengthening Ukraine’s energy security and independence.
