Ukrenergo looks for attorneys to sue Russia

The Ukrainian power transmission system operator, Ukrenergo NPC SE announced a tender for procurement of legal services for litigation with the Russian Federation. The enterprise is going to redress the investment losses caused by expropriation of Ukrenergo’s assets in Crimea in 2014.

The tender was announced by Ukrenergo on the nationwide online procurement portal. The threshold price for the tendered legal services is UAH 45 mil. Bid proposals are accepted from September, 8 till October, 8, 2018. The auctioning competition will be held on November, 13.

The legal services are to be rendered until the final court award is issued. The legal contractor shall service Ukrenergo in all hearings, in collecting evidential base, in selection judges to form the trial panel, and in valuation and presentation of claims. As reported earlier, in 2014 Russian Federation breached international law by annexing the Crimea and seizing assets of many Ukrainian companies located on the peninsula.
