Ukraine increases electricity imports after restrictions imposed

Ukraine increases electricity imports in February after restrictions were imposed on industry and business. However, the reserved capacity is still not being used 100%.

According to ExPro Electricity monitoring data, the average daily electricity import for February 11-17, 2025 is 10.5 thousand MWh, which is twice as much as the figure for February 1-10. In total, almost 130 thousand MWh of electricity have been imported since the beginning of February, with the largest amount coming from Hungary (36%).

According to ExPro calculations, the reserved section for imports is currently actually used by 30-40%.
