Ukraine increased gas injection 1.8 times, up to 1.35 bcm in June
Ukraine injected 1.35 bcm of natural gas into underground gas storage (UGS) facilities during June 2025, according to ExPro data.
Gas injection volumes increased 1.8 times compared to June last year (0.74 bcm) and by 23% compared to May 2025 (1.1 bcm).
Injection structure
Most of the injected gas was domestically produced, accounting for 810 mcm, or 60% of the total volume. Domestic gas production is gradually recovering after heavy Russian shelling in February–March.
In addition, 540 mcm of imported gas, or 40%, was injected into storage. In June, Ukraine increased gas imports by 8% compared to May. This is also the largest monthly import volume in nearly two years, since September 2023.

Since the beginning of the current injection season (April 17), Ukraine has injected nearly 2.71 bcm of natural gas into UGS facilities, 40% more than in the same period last year.
At the end of June, daily gas injection into Ukrainian UGS exceeded 50 mcm for the first time since October 7, 2023.
UGS reserves
Natural gas reserves in Ukrainian UGS facilities as of early July amounted to about 8.16 bcm, with the gap compared to last year narrowing to 18.5%.
