Ukraine increased electricity imports in October by 2.5 times
Electricity imports to Ukraine in October 2025 increased 2.5 times – up to 360 thousand MWh. These are preliminary monitoring data from ExPro Electricity.
Hungary continues to account for the largest share – 51%. Poland is in second place, with a 22% share.
Trade with Slovakia
At the end of October, Ukraine resumed cross-border trade with Slovakia after an almost two-month break due to repairs on the Veľké Kapušany–Mukachevo line. Imports from Slovakia for the last 3 days of the month amounted to 7.6 thousand MWh, while exports to Slovakia during this period reached 1.8 thousand MWh.
Overall, electricity imports in October increased in all directions.
Compared to October 2024, electricity imports to Ukraine doubled.
Electricity Exports in October
At the same time, electricity exports in October 2025 dropped by 85% due to intensified shelling of energy infrastructure. In total, 90.8 thousand MWh of electricity were exported during the month to EU countries and Moldova.
Supplies decreased in all directions except Slovakia. Hungary also accounts for the largest share – 43%.
