The largest attack on Naftogaz gas production since the start of the war

On the night of October 3, Russia carried out the largest massive strike on the gas production assets of Naftogaz Group since the beginning of the full-scale war, the company’s press service reported.

Facilities in Kharkiv and Poltava regions were targeted with 35 missiles, many of them ballistic, and 60 drones. Some were intercepted, but not all.

“Deliberate terror against civilian facilities that ensure gas production and processing, which are used to maintain normal life for people. No military sense. Another manifestation of Russian treachery, aimed solely at disrupting the heating season and depriving us of the ability to heat Ukrainian homes in winter. As a result of this attack, a significant part of our facilities has been damaged. Some of the destruction is critical,” said Serhiy Koretskyi, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

Currently, Naftogaz specialists, the State Emergency Service, and other emergency teams are working on site to eliminate the consequences of the strikes.

“The elimination of the consequences of the attack is ongoing. We are working with Ukraine’s partners to ensure that the response to this strike and its impact on the overall situation is timely and sufficient. Terror must never achieve its goal,” Koretskyi emphasized.

Recall that the previous largest attack was recorded in early February, as a result of which natural gas production in Ukraine fell by more than 40%.
