Results of GO trading in Ukraine in October 2024

In October 2024, the first auctions for guarantees of origin from RES in Ukraine took place. In general, 2 auctions were held, the initiator of which was PrJSC "Ukrhydroenergo".

Both auctions took place at the site of JSC "Market Operator".

Also, on November 5, 2024, another Ukrhydroenergo auction was announced for 50,000 guarantees of origin, which is equivalent to 50,000 MWh. The product type offered in both auctions was Standardized (HYD-2024 Aug). At the first auction, held on November 21, Ukrhydroenergo managed to sell 57% of the offered volumes (28,257 out of 50,000). The price of acceptance reached the level of the starting price - UAH 13/MWh. The winners were 12 companies, most of which are providers of universal services. At other auctions, the total sales volume increased by 40% - up to 39,500 MWh (79% of the proposed volume). The price remained at the level of UAH 13/MWh. At the same time, the number of winners was reduced to 6.

For example, in Hungary, the HUPX also held auctions of guarantees of origin in October. Also, on October 22, 19,430 MWh were sold (product – Hydro, country – Hungary, month of production – July 2024). The price of such a product was EUR 0.40/MWh, which is equivalent to UAH 17.8/MWh.

In general, price of the guarantees of origin at the HUPX, depending on the type of RES and the month of production, varies between 0.39-0.45 EUR/MW*h (17.3-20 UAH/MW*h).
