Naftogaz imported about 400 mcm of US LNG
Naftogaz of Ukraine, in cooperation with Poland’s Orlen, imported about 400 mcm of US LNG to Ukraine as part of preparations for the heating season, according to the company’s press service.
The import of US LNG is carried out through two terminals – Świnoujście in Poland and Klaipeda in Lithuania. After regasification, the natural gas is delivered to Ukraine via Poland.
According to Naftogaz, as of mid-September, about 450 mcm of US LNG has been contracted for delivery to Ukraine.
“On the eve of the Oil, Gas and Refining Industry Workers Day, we cannot overlook our country’s need for gas imports. One of the key sources of supply for us today is American LNG. We are implementing this project in partnership with the Polish state-owned company ORLEN. This allows us not only to diversify gas supplies, but also to strengthen our strategic cooperation,” said Sergii Koretskyi, CEO of Naftogaz.
