MP Gerus to push Draft Law to restrict imports of energy commodities from Russia

MP from the Servant of the People party faction and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy, Housing, and Communal Services Andriy Gerus is preparing a Draft Law to introduce restrictions (including introduction of special duties) on energy commodities imported from Russia, including electricity, coking coals, anthracite coals, and petroleum products. MP Gerus stated that on February 15, 2021.

MP Gerus stressed out that the restrictions should cover not only electricity, but also a number of other goods, such as coking coals for metallurgy, which is extracted in Ukraine by the Surgai State Mine, although is not safeguarded by the state from impacts from imports of coking coals from Russia.

MP Gerus also noted that he had the Draft Law almost accomplished and planned for registration in the Parliament of Ukraine during the week of 22 February 2021.
