KNESS has completed the construction of all ESS projects within the framework of special auctions

KNESS has completed the construction of all energy storage system (ESS) projects within the framework of the special auctions. We are talking about more than 100 MWh of ESS capacity, which are now in operation (that is, all facilities have received certificates of completion of construction works). This was reported by the company’s press center.

The ESS projects were implemented using technological solutions from HiTHIUM — a global manufacturer of energy storage equipment.

One of the projects was built on an ESS developed and manufactured by KNESS.

“The company has invested over 3 million dollars in gaining knowledge and acquiring experience. Over the years, the accumulated expertise and modeling of market scenarios for the operation of ESS have now helped us to implement energy innovations for Ukraine actively. This year, directly into ESS projects to support the resilience of the energy system, we invested $20 million using our own and bank financing, and also attracted no less an amount from partners,” said KNESS CEO Serhiy Shakalov.

The ESS projects went through all key stages: from development, design, procurement, and supply of equipment to the physical implementation of facilities — preparation of energy infrastructure, laying of cable lines, installation, commissioning of main equipment, putting into operation, and obtaining a certificate of completion of construction.

Currently, the KNESS team is working on the market integration of all the built ESS facilities.

This is a complex process that includes connecting the facility to the dispatch control module of the transmission system operator and setting up specialized software. This refers to the Energy Management System (EMS), which the KNESS RnD center team developed independently.
