In March, Ukraine doubled its electricity imports

In March 2024, Ukraine imported 168,280 MWh of electricity, which is twice as much as in February 2024, according to ExPro monitoring data. The export of electricity in March increased by 2.4 times - up to 154,115 MWh.

The largest volume of import per day was on March 26 - more than 18 thousand MWh, and export - on March 5, 13.3 thousand MWh.

At the beginning of the month, Ukraine actively exported electricity, but after the resumption of massive Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, exports decreased to a minimum, and imports increased sharply.

After March 22, a total of 116.4 thousand MWh was imported.

In March, most imports came from Hungary (40% of total volumes), most exports were to Poland (41%).

Compared to March 2023, imports increased 23 times this year. Exports in March last year were absent due to the ban.
