In January 2025, Ukraine reduced electricity imports by 56%, compared to December 2024, to almost 189 thousand MWh. Most of the electricity was supplied from Poland (30%), according to ExPro monitoring data.

The reduction in imports was due, among other things, to the improvement of the situation in the energy system and the sufficiency of resources from domestic producers. Poland accounted for 30% of imports, Hungary – 25.5%, Slovakia – almost 25%. In general, imports decreased in all directions.

Compared to January 2024, electricity imports increased by more than 50%.
