In February 2026, Ukraine imported a record 1.2 million MWh
In February 2026, Ukraine once again reached record electricity import volumes – 1.26 million MWh. Compared to January 2026, monthly imported volumes increased by 41%, according to ExPro monitoring data.
Hungary continues to account for the largest share in the import structure, 49%. Also, compared to January 2026, electricity imports from Hungary increased the most – by almost 54%.
Overall, despite political forecasts, electricity imports from Hungary and Slovakia in February only increased to record monthly levels. Slovakia’s share amounts to 18%. Electricity exports in 2026 are absent.
Compared to February 2025, electricity imports increased fivefold.
