Centrenergo will soon decline antracite coals as production inputs
Centrenergo Public Joint Stock Company will soon decline antracite coals as production inputs, for it is retrofitting Trypilska TPP and Zmiyivska TPP to use gas coals mined domestically. This was announced at the Round Table sessions of the Fuels and Energy Parliamentary Committee by Mr. Ihor Nasalyk, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine.
“Today, I would like to inform you that power generation facilities of Centrenergo for the most part will not be using antracite coals” said the Minister.
The later also added, that Donbasenergo is retrofitting one power generation unit at Sloviansk TPP to operate on gas coals instead on scarcely available antracite coals. “Just another core issue is that of Donbasenergo, but the later has hired a Chinese company for this $500 MM projected overhaul” said Mr. Nasalyk.
Earlier it was reported, at the beginning of October the Ministry released their Projected Balance of Fuels for 2019 according to which, Centrenergo is not planned for antracite coals supplies.
