Yuriy Tkachuk to become new head of Ukrgasvydobuvannya
The candidacy of Yuriy Tkachuk has been approved for the position of CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC of Naftogaz of Ukraine. Three unrelated sources confirmed to ExPro the appointment of Yuriy Tkachuk as CEO of UGV.
“Today, his candidacy will be put to a vote at the meeting of the Naftogaz Supervisory Board,” an ExPro source said.
Who is Yuriy Tkachuk?
Yuriy Tkachuk has extensive experience working in various structures of the Naftogaz Group. After Sergii Koretskyi joined Ukrnafta in 2022, Yuriy Tkachuk became the company’s CFO.
In May 2025, Yuriy Tkachuk was appointed acting Chairman of the Management Board of Ukrnafta following Koretskyi’s transition to Naftogaz. Tkachuk headed Ukrnafta until December 16, 2025, after which Bohdan Kukura was appointed as the new CEO.

Who headed UGV?
Before Tkachuk, Serhii Lahno served as acting CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya from June 2025. Before his appointment, Lahno was Chief Engineer of UGV. More details on his work are available in an exclusive ExPro interview from December 2024.
From January 2023 to mid-2024, Ukrgasvydobuvannya was headed by Oleh Tolmachov, who previously served as Director for Exploration and Production at the Naftogaz Group.
From May 2022 to January 2023, Oleksandr Romaniuk headed Ukrgasvydobuvannya. Notably, all three served as acting CEOs of UGV.
Thus, Tkachuk will become the first full-fledged CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya since Olena Kobets (2020–2024).
