Ukrtransgaz updates one of the main gas pipelines

Ukrtransgaz JSC (UTG) updates the main gas pipeline, which will allow to choose and implement technological modes of operation of Western Ukrainian UGS in a new format. The press service of Naftogaz of Ukraine reported this.

It is noted that repair work on the gas pipeline can be called the largest operation of more than half a century of its operation. The project is sold by Ukrgasprombud experts.

Currently, experts have already dismantled almost 11 km of gas pipeline, cleared pipes from outdated insulation, conducted visual-optic and instrument control of the gas pipeline, and conducted the reverse installation of more than 6 km of restored pipes.

In addition, work with aboveground sections of the gas pipeline, which pass through natural obstacles. They also update the anti-corrosion coating, repair the connections, and mount an additional crane knot on one of the GTS sections.

The work is planned for June 2023. The company emphasizes that the updated gas pipeline will maximize the efficiency of the neighboring UGS, which is directly involved in international fuel supplies and storage of gas traders in customs warehouse mode.
