Ukrtransgaz is expecting the interest of non-residents in injecting gas into Ukrainian UGS this summer

Ukrtransgaz JSC (UTG) expects interest from non-residents to inject natural gas into Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities (UGS) this summer. This was announced by the head of UTG Roman Malyutin during the Energy Club event.

UTG also expects to complete the certification of Ukrtransgaz as a gas storage operator according to European standards as soon as possible. According to Malyutin, Ukrtransgaz will be one of the first European operators of UGS to undergo certification.

Completion of the new certification will allow Ukrtransgaz to store gas not only from non-residents but also strategic reserves of European countries in Ukrainian UGS. "Without certification, we would not be able to store gas from European countries," Malyutin says.

In general, Ukrtransgaz is ready to offer foreign customers, both companies and countries, up to 15 bcm of natural gas from its own capacities. Malyutin reminded that UTG also offers companies to store gas in the "customs warehouse" of Ukrainian UGS without paying customs payments for up to 3 years.
