Ukrtransgaz carries out the repair of gas pipelines-loops on the Western Ukrainian UGS

Ukrtransgaz JSC (UTG) continues the repair of pipeline gas pipelines at one of the oldest underground gas storage facilities (UGS) in Western Ukraine. The work was started in May 2022. The first stage is being completed, which includes the repair of 11 pipelines passing through one technical corridor and another 5 adjacent gas pipelines. Full completion of the works is planned for December 2023.

According to UTG, it is this UGS in a complex with a gas collection point and a compression compressor station that performs gas withdrawal and injection at the minimum possible input parameters, which is extremely important in modern realities.

The work is being carried out by Ukrgazprombud specialists, who have performed the following to date:

• opening (excavation) of the pipeline;
• manual cleaning;
• dismantling of the damaged insulating coating;
• isolation and cutting of defective welded joints;
• pipeline welding.

In addition to the repair of the underground part of the gas pipeline, specialists began work on the installation of casings at the intersection with the highway.

UTG emphasizes that the Western Ukrainian complex of UGS makes it possible to create reserves both for Ukraine and the countries of Western and Central Europe.
