Ukrinterenergo enlist Turboatom and Kyiv Zoo as customers

Ukrinterenergo, a designated supplier of the last resort (SoLR), added Turboatom and Kyiv Zoo to their customer list, as reported by the company on 10 January 2019. The list of clients of this SoLR also includes several municipal water supply and sewerage companies, such as Sumy Municipal Water Supply Company, Myrgorod Municipal Water Supply Company, Poltava Municipal Water Supply Company, Mariupol Municipal Water Supply & Sewerage Company, Apolstolovo Water Supply Company and others.

Ukrinterenergo will also supply electricity to industrial companies, such as Ukroboronprom State Enterprise, Kharkiv Machine Building Plant, Rememergo, a repair & maintenance company servicing thermal power stations of Centrenergo, Chernitsi Trolleybus Municipal Enterprise, Pervomaisk Municipal Heating Company.

EXPRO Reference: Supplier of last resort (SoLR) , a designated energy supply company is set forth by the Ukraine’s Law on Electricity Market to service customers who may not be able to acquire energy from any other provider starting 01 January 2019. Services of a SoLR is limited by 90 days. In the middle of December 2018, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine assigned Ukrinterenergo, the nation’s authorized exporter of power, to serve as SoLR in Ukraine.

The margins of electricity sales by Ukrinterenergo is limited to UAH 486,06/Mwh excluding VAT. According to Ms. Olena Antonova, a Board Member of the National Commission for State Regulation in Energy and Utilities (NKREKP), the tariff of the SoLR will be 14% higher the tariffs assigned to universal power suppliers. According to EXPRO estimates the SoLR’s tariffs will be UAH 2.54- UAH 2.79/kWh ( for industrial consumers of the first grade (27,5 kW and more) and UAH 2,76- UAH 3,53/kWh ( for industrial consumers of the second grade (not exceeding 27,5 kW).
