Ukrhydroenergo appeals to the ECHR, claiming UAH 17 billion of compensation from Russia

PJSC Ukrhydroenergo appeals to the European Court of Human Rights against Russia for causing losses due to unprovoked military aggression, totalling UAH 17 billion.

This was reported by the press centre of Ukrhydroenergo.

As indicated in the UHE, the war caused damage to the company in the amount of UAH 17 billion; this applies to such assets as the Kakhovska hydroelectric power plant and the unfinished wind farm on Zmiiniy island.

"Thus, contrary to international condemnation of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the demand of the international community to stop military operations, Russia continues to occupy the territory of Ukraine, destroy civilian infrastructure, and attack civilians. Therefore, it would be naive to expect a fair hearing of the claim or the company's applications for compensation for the damage caused in Russia itself," the state hydrogenating company reports.
