Ukrgazvydobuvannya discovered a new gas field with potential reserves of 1 bcm

Ukrgazvydobuvannya JSC, which is part of the Naftogaz Group, has discovered a new gas field, its reserves may reach 1 bcm of natural gas. This was reported by the company's press service.

According to the company, the oil and gas area was studied "from scratch", the deposit was opened with a well with a depth of almost 4,000 m. Before drilling, experts conducted a 3D seismic survey. The obtained geological information indicates that the reserves of the new deposit may reach 1 bcm of gas.

The company notes that this is not the first discovery of new hydrocarbon deposits this year.

"By increasing reserves, we are creating a perspective for sustainable growth of gas production," said acting general director of Ukrgazvydobuvannya Oleg Tolmachev.

He also added that Ukrgazvydobuvannya will continue the geological exploration program in this field and plans to drill new wells here.

One may remember that Naftogaz Group recently put into operation two high-throughput wells, which in total provide more than 430 tcm of natural gas per day.
