Ukrenergo's debt to Ukrhydroenergo on the balancing market reached UAH 5.5 billion

The debt of "Ukrenergo" to "Ukrhydroenergo" on the balancing market is UAH 5.5 billion, and on the auxiliary services market - UAH 1 billion. Ihor Syrota, the general director of Ukrhydroenergo PJSC, told about this in an interview.

"The debt of NPC Ukrenergo on the balancing market and for auxiliary services is growing quite rapidly. Today it is 5 billion 500 million and 1 billion, respectively. Currently, there is no deficit in Ukraine's energy system, but at certain hours we produce energy at the peak of our capabilities," Ihor Syrota points out.

Also, Syrota points out that the simultaneous removal of nuclear power plant units for repair increases the load on hydro generation and, accordingly, leads to an increase in the size of the PSO for Ukrhydroenergo.

"Energoatom's repair campaign makes significant adjustments to the activity and financial position of Ukrhydroenergo. For example, in March we produced 74% less Energoatom, and already in May we will produce 39% less Energoatom due to a significant reduction in nuclear generation. Thus, our companies are entrusted with providing the population with affordable energy through the PSO mechanism," Syrota points out.

Already in May, the company "Ukrhydroenergo" will limit the financing of all programs for the restoration of damaged stations and the maintenance of the company's vital activities, in order to ensure the obligations under PSO.
