Ukrainian artillery struck at Russian troops on captured floating drilling rigs

On the morning of June 20, Ukrainian artillery struck at positions of the Russian military on the seized floating drilling rigs of NJSC Company Chornomornaftogaz in the Black Sea. This is reported by so-called "chairman of the Crimea" Sergey Aksenov.

Russian troops used the captured drilling rigs to monitor the Black Sea, placing military equipment directly on the drilling rigs.

Along with the occupation of Crimea in early 2014, Russia also seized Chornomornaftogaz's drilling rigs. In total, at that time Ukraine had four drilling rigs. Two old ones: Sivash and Tavrida. And also two new ones (the so-called "Boyko's Drilling Rigs"): "Petro Godovanets" and "Independence".

ODESA OFFSHORE CONFERENCE-2019 Ukraine has every chance to resume the work of the most promising oil and gas region, the Southern oil&gas fields. The untapped deposits of oil and gas are located both onshore and subsea. Four companies have already poised to conclude Production Sharing Agreements with Ukraine, whilst bidding for the Dolphin oil&gas fields on Black Sea shelf. The Odesa Offshore Conference (OOC2019) will serve as a venue for Ukrainian and international bidders to meet with local and international drilling, oilfield service and equipment manufacturers to kick-off emerging subsea and onshore projects in Ukraine.
