Ukraine will export electricity to Moldova and Poland this week

On April 11, Ukraine will start exporting electricity for the first time since October 2022. The first direction is Moldova. The planned delivery volume is 150 MWh.

From April 12, exports to Poland can begin, at the level of up to 75 MW.

This is reported by ExPro, with reference to the data of the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform and the auction platform of NPC "Ukrenergo".

"Ukraine is resuming electricity exports to Europe under the condition of providing priority to Ukrainian consumers and excess electricity production in the power system...Also, the possibility of opening exports to Slovakia is currently being negotiated," the Ukrainian transmission system operator reported.

According to the results of the daily auction for the distribution of capacity for supply to Moldova on April 11, the crossing (330 MW out of the proposed 650 MW) was bought by 4 companies. The largest volumes were reserved by the state trader "Energy Company of Ukraine" (base 150 MW), "D.Trading" (base 50 MW), "Ukrhydroenergo" (base 100 MW) and "Artlex-Energy" (base 30 MW).

For delivery on April 12, the amount of distributed capacity increased even more - up to 408 MW for almost all hours. The winners of the daily auction were 6 companies - "ECU", "Ukrhydroenergo", "D.Trading", "Artlex-Energy", "Astat Energy", "SPG Energy". The largest capacity will continue to be purchased by the state trader.

Also, an auction was held for the allocation of 75 MW of capacity of the interstate crossing in the direction of Poland for the delivery date of April 12.

It should be noted that initially "Ukrenergo" announced that the proposed capacity in this direction would be 80 MW, but in fact, according to the auction platform, it was 75 MW.
