Ukraine successfully holds talks with World Bank to raise $ 211 million for Ukrhydroenergo’s energy storages

The Ukrainian delegation successfully held talks with the World Bank on raising preferential termed $ 177 million and $ 34 million from the Clean Technologies Fund, for the implementation of the project to the deployment of energy storage systems (ESS) at the Ukrainian operator of large hydropower plants - PJSC Ukrhydroenergo’s production sites.

This was announced on June 9, 2021, by the press center of the Ministry of Energy.

The project provides for the installation of: 197 MW energy storage systems at 4 production sites (area of hydropower plants) of the PJSC Ukrhydroenergo ; 35.9 MW for SPP plant as a backup source of energy supply for the PJSC Ukrhydroenergo own needs; batteries with a capacity of 15 MW at the Dniester HPP as a source for charging local electric vehicles, as well as SPP with a capacity of 28 MW as a backup source of energy supply for own needs of power generating equipment and for charging batteries.
