Strengthening the position of Ukraine as a participant in the European energy market will work to strengthen the energy security component of Europe. The head of the Naftogaz Group stated this on the air of the telethon while on a working trip in Berlin.

According to Chernyshov, this year's 7% increase in own production and decrease in consumption compared to the pre-war period allows Ukraine to plan for the passage of this winter exclusively at the expense of Ukrainian gas for the first time in history.

"Further reform of the industry and attraction of foreign investments will give us the opportunity not only to abandon imports but also to eventually export Ukrainian-produced gas to the European market. For this, time is needed for the introduction of the energy market, price liberalization, and the creation of an investment climate," said Oleksiy Chernyshov.

According to him, reforming the energy market in Ukraine will lead to careful consumption of gas, which will be the implementation of energy efficiency programs. This will enable the state to export more Ukrainian gas to the European market and strengthen energy security.

"Energy security is an important component of the security of modern Europe. And today, Ukraine is an important player in the future energy complex of the European Union," the head of Naftogaz stressed.
