UGV production depends on its digitalization and optimal field development management process

Oleg Tolmachev, Head of production in the Naftogaz Exploration and Production Division, said that the operational efficiency of Ukrgasvydobuvannya, as an economic component, primarily depends on building an optimal process for field development management and digitalizing production.

This was reported in the special interview to ExPro Gas&Oil "How modern technologies help UGV raise production at depleted fields – Tolmachev"

To do this, the company organizes multifunctional teams and increases the level of interaction with the Technical Division. This allows significantly reducing the cycles of both decision-making and wells' drilling and completion.

Such a team includes the representatives of the production, surface infrastructure, and development departments, integrated planning function, and field leaders, geologists, and facility managers.

In addition, Oleg Tolmachev noted the importance of the production digitalization process: "If we do not get reliable well data, i.e. flow rates, temperature, and pressure, we will not have accurate initial data for field modelling. It is the digitization of our wells and IGTP, the collection of this data into a single system, and a common information field of the company that will allow us to significantly optimize the hydrocarbon production, transportation, and nomination. Therefore, digitalization of production is a top priority. For me, achievement of the full digitalization of production over the next three years is a challenge - this will be an excellent result."
