This year, a Ukrainian stand was for the first time presented at the International InterSolar 2023 Exhibition

This year, at the International InterSolar 2023 Exhibition, a Ukrainian stand organized by the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine was presented for the first time.

"Europe is experiencing a rapid growth of solar energy: the war in Ukraine has accelerated the energy transition. The pace of SPP installation exceeds even the most optimistic forecasts. These trends were clearly demonstrated by the industry's largest exhibition, InterSolar 2023, recently held in Munich. Almost 2.5 thousand stands and 85 thousand visitors confirm the scale that the industry is gaining. And this year, for the first time, a Ukrainian stand organized by the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine was presented at the exhibition. SEAU promotes companies operating under EPC contracts and equipment manufacturers to the European market," the Association notes.

The European market is very attractive, and Ukrainian companies are actively looking for new opportunities. And this is a two-way interest.

And, as the SEAU points out, if until recently it was extremely difficult for Ukrainian companies to enter the European market, now Europeans are much more loyal. Last year, 41.4 GW of new solar capacity was installed in Europe. This is 47% more than in 2021. 50 GW is expected this year. And in 2026, the annual growth of new capacities will be 85 GW. The demand is very high," Artem Semenyshyn, the Chair of SEAU says.- Ukrainian companies can help Europe quickly increase its capacity. For example, SEAU participants, KNESS, Solar SteelConstruction, and EnerhoSyla Group, which were represented at the exhibition, already have branches in Europe and are actively working there.

A very active market, where Ukrainian companies (the already mentioned Kness, Solar SteelConstruction, and EnerhoSyla Group) also operate, is the Baltic. Despite the northern climate and a rather low level of insolation, these countries are actively developing solar energy. Balkan countries are another powerful growth zone. There, Ukrainian companies already operate.

"The main competitive advantages of Ukrainian business are speed, high quality, and creative approach to work. Ukrainians demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt foreign technologies and develop their own. They are actively implementing digital technologies in the field of solar energy, ensuring efficient and automated operation of the system," Artem Semenyshyn says.

SEAU noted that one of the advantages of Ukrainian SPP installers is their high level of engineering training. This allows them gaining an advantage in the market and building complex projects that require a non-standard approach and atypical solutions. For example, in mountainous areas with difficult terrain and climate.

According to SEAU Chair, some Ukrainian companies, in particular Kness and Solar SteelConstruction, can produce installation structures at their facilities. This is not only a great technical advantage, but also an opportunity to expand the export potential of Ukraine.
