The war should not stand in the way of continuing the reform of Ukraine's energy system, Naftogaz Group Chairman Oleksiy Chernyshov said during a speech at the Kyiv International Economic Forum.

According to Chernyshov, Ukraine has sufficient reserves of energy resources to be competitive in the European energy market.

However, for effective work, it is necessary to intensively continue the reform of the energy system. In particular, by introducing the energy market.

"The rate of development of the Ukrainian economy directly depends on the development of our energy industry. If we reform the energy sector, the economy will only grow. The gas transportation system, underground gas storages, and the third place in terms of gas reserves in Europe — all this will only strengthen our position. However, it is necessary to intensify the reform of this industry. And it is necessary to do it now, without waiting for the end of the war," said Oleksiy Chernyshov.
