The Russians fired at one of the TPPs of DTEK Energo

The Russians dealt another blow to the energy infrastructure, one of the enterprises included in the structure of DTEK Energo was affected. The company reports 3 victims.

"On October 17, Russian troops carried out another series of terrorist attacks on the civil and energy infrastructure of Ukraine. As a result of the shelling, one of the energy enterprises of DTEK Energo was damaged," DTEK reported.

According to preliminary information from DTEK Energo, 3 people were injured. They were promptly provided with medical assistance and taken to the hospital.

DTEK added that this is not the first facility of the company to be hit by Russian missile strikes. On October 10-11, Burshtynska TPP, Ladyzhynska TPP and Prydniprovska TPP were attacked.

As ExPro reports, on the morning of October 17, Russian troops launched another missile attack on energy infrastructure in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy regions.

"This morning, the Russians resorted to shelling of energy infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk region, Sumy region and the city of Kyiv. Once again, both household consumers and industrial enterprises have been cut off," Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko commented on the shelling.

The minister also reported that as a result of Russian shelling, a substation was damaged, to which the only power transmission line connecting the Zaporizhzhya NPP and the energy system of Ukraine approached. The NPP is forced to operate again on diesel generators.

Ukrenergo reported damage to energy infrastructure facilities in the central and northern regions of Ukraine.

"Repair crews of Ukrenergo are working on eliminating the consequences. The situation in the power system is under control," NEC reports. The dispatch center of the transmission system operator warns that emergency shutdown schedules may be introduced.
