The regulator has increased the upper price caps in the BuTPP Island - to 1650 UAH / MWh and 3000 UAH / MWh

The energy regulator raised the upper limit prices on the day-ahead market and the intraday market in the Burshtyn TPP Island zone to UAH 1,650 / MWh for minimum load hours and UAH 3,000 / MWh for maximum load hours.

The new price restrictions will take effect from January 1, 2022.

The decision was made at a meeting on December 24.

We are increasing the price cap by 10% at night and by 20% during the day, and, accordingly, we have already adjusted the tariffs of both water utilities and distribution companies," said Valery Tarasyuk, chairman of the NEURC.

Also, the Regulator noted that this decision was made due to the general trend of increasing the cost of energy resources on the world market and the appeal of electricity producers operating in Burshtyn Island.

It will be recalled that price caps in the IPS trade zone of Ukraine are UAH 2,000 / MWh for minimum load hours and UAH 4,000 / MWh for maximum load hours.

Earlier, the NEURC stated that the increase in the top price caps in the IPS of Ukraine is not expected yet.
