The Parliament of Ukraine accepted Chernyshov's resignation, is Naftogaz next?

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine accepted the resignation of Oleksiy Chernyshov from the post of Minister of Community and Territorial Development at a meeting on November 3, 2022. People's deputy Oleksiy Kucherenko reported this.

279 People's Deputies voted "for" Chernyshov's resignation.

As ExPro reported, Chernyshov may become the next chairman of Naftogaz of Ukraine, for which he resigned from the post of minister.

At the same time, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, in which the NACP opposed the appointment of Chernyshov to the position of the head of Naftogaz.

According to NACP, the Government, of which Oleksiy Chernyshov is a member, has been performing the functions of Naftogaz's general meetings and the company's supervisory board for a long time. The norms of the law "On Prevention of Corruption" forbid officials and civil servants to take up employment with legal entities during the year, if these companies were under their control or supervision.

ExPro sources note that the appointment of Chernyshov as the head of Naftogaz may take place by the end of this week.
