The launch of joint auctions for crossings with Slovakia and Hungary is expected in the spring

The launch of joint auctions for the distribution of capacity of the interstate crossing with Slovakia and Hungary at the JAO platform is expected this spring. This was reported by the Chairman of the Board of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi in an ExPro comment.

"The JAO platform itself has determined that it will be launched in one direction," said Volodymyr Kudrytskyi.

According to him, in the spring capacity distribution will already take place at joint auctions at the JAO site in almost all directions. The exception is Romania, which has so far decided to hold joint auctions on the Ukrenergo platform.

Also, as Volodymyr Kudrytskyi points out, the import of electricity to Ukraine comes mainly during those hours when prices are low in Europe.

"When we need imported electricity, the prices in Europe are usually higher. And because of this, imports do not go. We have inadequate market regulation. Our prices do not fluctuate as they do in Europe," Kudrytskyi points out, noting that the technical capacity for imports is sufficient.
