The key task of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine is to prepare 100% for the heating season in the coming week

On September 28, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a conference call with the heads of regional military administrations regarding the readiness of the fuel and energy complex of housing, communal and social facilities, as well as transport infrastructure for the autumn-winter period of 2022-2023, the press service reported Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

"Everyone is preparing for the hardest heating season. I am grateful to the regional administrations for the level of preparation, which is currently more than 88%. The government, for its part, continues to work on the provision of energy resources. Currently, we have almost 14 bcm of gas in UGS and 2.2 million tons of coal," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the key task for the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, and responsible bodies in the coming weeks is to reach 100% readiness for the heating season.

Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko noted that it is planned to accumulate 14.5-15 bcm of gas at the beginning of the heating season. In addition, there are agreements to import a certain amount of gas to create a reserve stock. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources reported that it is planned to sell 5 mcm of firewood for this heating season.
