The key task by next winter is to create the necessary gas reserves - Chernyshov
The key tasks of Ukraine are the restoration and preparation of the energy infrastructure, as well as the creation of sufficient gas reserves for the next heating season of 2023-2024. This was discussed at the meeting of the Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters, which was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on May 22, 2023.
During the meeting, the chairman of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Oleksiy Chernyshov, presented the company's vision for the next heating season.
"One of the key tasks is to create the necessary gas reserves. This year, we are primarily counting on our own Ukrainian production. We are also preparing our infrastructure in an intensified mode. Currently, the restoration of networks and energy facilities damaged by military actions and shelling is underway. We are also preparing the heat energy enterprises under the management of the Naftogaz Group according to the defined plan: we are updating the networks and equipment where necessary," said Oleksiy Chernyshov.
He also thanked all customers who pay on time for consumed utility services — this helps Ukraine prepare for the next winter.
