The government transferred UAH 12.7 billion to Naftogaz for the purchase of gas for UGS

At a meeting on November 22, the Government of Ukraine approved the procedure for using state budget funds for the purchase of gas in 2022-2023. In particular, the Government handed over UAH 12.7 billion to Naftogaz of Ukraine for the purchase of natural gas for injecting it into underground gas storage facilities. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.

Earlier, Ukraine received these funds from the Government of Canada. Also this week, Norway allocated about €200 million to Ukraine for the purchase of gas. Before that, the EBRD agreed to provide €300 million for these needs. Funds will also be provided to Naftogaz.

"This is an extremely important part of preparing for a stable winter," said Shmyhal.
