The EU confirmed Ukraine's participation in joint gas procurement

Ukraine will participate in the joint purchase of natural gas by the EU countries, noted the head of the EU energy policy, Kadri Simson.

"We integrated Ukraine into the joint gas procurement platform to help get 2 bcm of additional gas," Simson said.

By the summer, EU countries plan to sign their first contracts for the joint purchase of gas.

As reported, Ukraine intends to purchase an additional 2 bcm of natural gas together with the EU for the next heating season. It is expected that the gas can be injected to Ukrainian UGS.
