The de-oligarchization of regional gas companies has been completed

The Naftogaz Group has fully completed the integration of regional and city gas companies in 2023, the company's press service reports. As Naftogaz notes, strengthening the energy stability of the country is a task set by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

As noted in the Ministry of Energy, the successful return of gas distribution enterprises to the management of a state company is an integral part of the de-oligarchization of Ukraine.

"This is a big responsibility, as the number of our customers has increased significantly along with it. However, it was a necessary step, that depended on the stability of critical infrastructure, the operation of businesses, and the comfort of Ukrainians. In the conditions of risks of constant shelling and possible blackouts, the gas supply must be uninterrupted. Thank you to everyone who works to provide our towns and villages with gas," said Oleksiy Chernyshov, head of Naftogaz.

According to him, operational control over regional enterprises allowed the state not only to ensure uninterrupted gas supply but also to put an end to various oligarchic schemes, due to which the state budget did not receive billions of hryvnias.

According to the preliminary calculations of Naftogaz, next year the deductions to the state budget by the timing operators will amount to more than UAH 5 billion.

"It's not just saving 50,000 jobs and billions of deductions that will fill the state coffers. This is an opportunity for quality control of gas supply and a new convenient service for almost 10 million consumers in the form of one clear payment," Chernyshov concluded.
