The Cabinet of Ministers held a meeting on preparations for the next heating season

On July 3, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, a meeting was held regarding the state of preparation of enterprises of the fuel and energy complex and housing and communal services for the autumn-winter period of 2023-2024. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The Ministry of Energy reported that at the beginning of the heating season, it is planned to reach 1.8 million tons of coal and 14.7 cm of natural gas. According to the Ministry of Energy, all planned repairs of energy facilities are being carried out according to the schedule.

At the meeting, in particular, the chairman of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov, as well as the heads of NEC Ukrenergo, Energoatom NAEC, Ukrhydroenergo PrJSC, and others took part.

The participants of the meeting, among other things, discussed steps to increase the capacity of electricity export-import between Ukraine and the EU, as well as the possibility of transition of the CHPPs to alternative fuels in order to reduce the consumption of natural gas.
