The available capacity for electricity import from Europe has been increased to 1,700 MW

The Ukrainian power system fully meets the technical requirements of ENTSO-E, and the available capacity for electricity import from Europe has been increased to 1,700 MW. The head of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, reported this.

"I confess, I waited a long time for the opportunity to say this word publicly: the process of synchronizing the Ukrainian and European energy systems has been completely completed," Kudrytskyi wrote on his Facebook.

This was officially confirmed today by the system operators of continental Europe at their meeting in Brussels. ENTSO-E recognized that "Ukrenergo" has completed the key technical measures necessary for the permanent synchronization of the Ukrainian and European energy systems. The decision to increase the available capacity for import was made by our partners after relevant studies of the safe and stable synchronous operation of the Ukrainian and European energy systems.

"Today's decision of ENTSO-E is the best answer to the question about the Soviet technical background of the Ukrainian energy system, which seems to make it unlike the European one. It will also forever put an end to the question: does our country's energy system meet European energy standards," Kudrytskyi emphasized.
