Specialists of Ukrgaspromgeofizyka used the new TLC technology

Specialists of the Ukrgaspromgeofizyka Geophysical Department branch of Ukrgazvydobuvannya JSC (part of Naftogaz of Ukraine) have for the first time in their history used the TLC (Tough Logging Conditions) technology, which involves attaching an assembly of geophysical instruments to a drilling tool. This was reported by the press service of the UGV.

According to UGV, special equipment is usually lowered into the well on a geophysical cable to carry out geophysical research during the drilling of new wells. However, at one of the UGV wells, due to the difficult technical conditions, such work could not be performed.

Considering this, specialists of Ukrgaspromgeofizyka using TLC technology performed geophysical work in difficult well conditions at a depth of 4,300 m. According to the results of the operation, it was possible to determine productive gas horizons in the new well.

"In geophysics, such operations are considered difficult. Lowering the instruments on the drilling tool requires great precision and concentration, especially since the well we were working with had a significant angle of inclination and deviation from the projection of the mouth, which made the work much more difficult. Any mistake during the descent or improper attachment of the devices could lead to their loss. Thanks to coordinated work, the joint team of drillers and geophysicists performed this operation without incident," said the head of the geophysical department of Ukrgaspromgeofizyka Yuriy Kalmuk.
